Sarah Davids was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1999 and from Idaho State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. While attending ISU she studied voice with Kathleen Lane and Diana Friedley. She performed in the Concert and Chamber Choirs under the direction of Scott Anderson, traveling and performing in Spain and Portugal as a highlight!
She then went on to teach Junior High School and High School choirs in Yakima, Washington for five years. She also maintained a private voice studio during that time. She and her husband Will Davids, retuned to Pocatello to raise their growing family (now with four children) as Will continued in his profession as a pharmacist.
Sarah has been directing the ISU Children’s Chorus for the past 14 years. She served as Co-Director of the choir for 10 years and has been the sole Artistic Director for the past four years. The ISU Children’s Chorus is a community choir for children in the 3rd-8th grades and has had a dynamic presence in Southeast Idaho for the past 35 years as it has inspired many children to make music a part of their lives!
During Sarah’s tenure as Director, the choir has performed with the ISU Choirs and Symphony, the “Season of Note, Christmas with the Celts”, a Children’s Choir Festival in Logan, Utah conducted by Rollo Dilworth, as well as many other community events! The group also tours and performs annually for local schools and most recently was chosen as a performing group for the IMEA Music Conference in Rexburg, Idaho with glowing accolades. The chorus also received a special recognition from the Mayor of Pocatello for Excellence in the Arts.
In her “spare” time, Sarah loves outdoor activities and playing tennis. She maintains a small private voice studio at home and enjoys judging music festivals. Her greatest joy is being a mom and keeping her own children active in music and athletic activities and watching them grow!
