The Invitational Conference Choir with Maria Guinand

Over 100 singers have registered for the invitational conference choir with Maria Guinand. Welcome to your home for all things regarding this opportunity.

The IDACDA Board is proud to announce an invitational conference choir with Maria Guinand as a part of the fall Idaho ACDA conference this October 6-8, 2022 at Cathedral of the Rockies. We are thrilled to welcome over 100 singers from across the state, representing 14 different organizations. All information for this opportunity will be posted to this page. Here’s what you need to do to participate in this event!

1. Join the contact list

As part of the registration process, you’ve been invited to join our TXTing list. If you have not accepted that invitation, or haven’t seen the invitation, please join the list by sending @idacdaicc to 81010 (see below). Message and data rates may apply. If you’re unsure if you’ve joined or not, do it anyway and it will let you know.

2. Download your sheet music

Sheet music and practice files will be distributed digitally. Please click through to download your sheet music and practice files. The password was emailed to you on July 14. If you have forgotten the password, please refer to that email, or send quick text to Keith McCauley (IDACDA Webmaster) at 208 four zero seven 4525.

3. Learn your music

The expectation for this Invitational conference choir (ICC) is that each singer will take the time to learn their assigned part for each song, and be fully prepared by the end of the summer.  There will be two rehearsals in your geographic region prior to meeting at the conference site with Ms. Guinand. The rehearsal conductors for these two rehearsals will be Steve Dresen in South East Idaho, and Grant Farmer in the Treasure Valley region.

The purpose of the two rehearsals will be to prepare the music as an ensemble prior to meeting together at the conference. These rehearsals will not be part-learning sessions. You should be completely prepared by the time you come together in September. You will be contacted by your regional rehearsal conductors by the end of July to give you more details regarding the September rehearsals. Your directors will be an additional resource if you need assistance learning your music. Use the DOWNLOAD SHEET MUSIC button above to access your sheet music, practice files, and demo performances.

A reminder to all participants that transportation to and from the conference rehearsals and the performance will be the sole responsibility of the participants. Arrangements must be made by participants and their directors.
