Two awards to be presented in 2017; designed to recognize outstanding efforts and dedication to both veteran and emerging choral directors in Idaho

Please note: These awards were started in 2014. Nominations are open now (2017) and will remain open until September 16, 2017

I am pleased to announce that after investigating best practices of other ACDA state chapters, I am creating two awards to recognize the outstanding efforts and dedication of both veteran and emerging choral directors in our state.

The Idaho ACDA Outstanding Emerging Choral Director Award and the Idaho ACDA Outstanding Choral Director Award will be awarded to those individuals who display distinguished service to choral music in the state of Idaho.

Deadline for submissions: September 16, 2017

Awards Criteria

  • Outstanding Emerging Choral Director Award
  • 10 years or fewer choral directing experience
  • Current ACDA/ID-ACDA member
  • Maintains high performance and literature standards
  • Attends ACDA/ID-ACDA activities

Nominee must be nominated by a member of Idaho ACDA by a letter of recommendation citing the merits of the nominee

Outstanding Choral Director Award

  • At least 10 years or more choral directing experience
  • Current ACDA/ID-ACDA member
  • Maintains high performance and literature standards
  • Participates in ACDA/ID-ACDA activities
  • Promotes choral music in her/his community

Nominee must be nominated by a member of Idaho ACDA by a letter of recommendation citing the merits of the nominee.

I hope these awards will give due recognition to those who have and are making a difference in choral music in our state as well as encourage others to follow their example of exemplary dedication to the choral art. I am looking for individuals who would be willing to serve on the selection committee.
