Seth McMullen

Seth McMullen has served as Director of Choirs at Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho since 2003. Under his award-winning direction, the choral program at Eagle has established a reputation for musical excellence throughout the state of Idaho and the Northwestern United States. Choirs under Mr. McMullen’s leadership have consistently received awards and commendations at local and regional choral festivals, as well as invitations to perform at several music educators’ conventions. Seth is an active clinician and adjudicator for high school, junior high and church choirs, and he has conducted several honor choirs. He has presented at multiple state and regional music educator conferences on a wide range of topics, including Repertoire Selection and Empowering Student Leadership.

In 2018, Seth was selected as one of six recipients of the prestigious International Conductor Exchange Program through ACDA, serving a three-week residency in Kenya. As a vocalist, Seth recently concluded a fifteen-season tenure in Male Ensemble Northwest (MEN), a group of choral conductors dedicated to the promotion of male singing in public schools. In his years in MEN, Mr. McMullen has performed and conducted at conventions, concerts, and workshops throughout the Western United States and abroad, including the 2016 Bangkok International Choral Festival.  Mr. McMullen has served in state and regional level leadership positions for the American Choral Director’s Association and Idaho Music Educators Association. He is the co-founder of the Treasure Valley Vocal Jazz Camp and is the founder of the Idaho Choral Commissioning Consortium, an organization for the promotion and commissioning of new choral works for high school choirs. Seth currently is the Choir Director at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Boise.

Mr. McMullen received a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from Northern Arizona University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Whitworth College. Prior to coming to Eagle, Mr. McMullen taught band, choir and drama at Deer Park High School in Deer Park, Washington. Seth is an avid reader and foodie, and in their (way too limited) spare time, he and his wife Hallie train and show their ever-growing pack of German Shepherd Dogs.
